Drop by Brooklyn this summer for a weekend-long celebration of the borough’s rich cultural, historical, and musical diversity! BSE Global proudly presents PLANET BROOKLYN LIVE at the Barclays Center, featuring Machel Montano, Ayetian, Bunji Garlin, and MORE on August 24th, 2025! This upcoming production is part of a streets-wide festival dedicated to the spirit of Brooklyn, with all its eclectic sounds, homegrown flavors, and invigorating kinetic energy!
Experience one of New York City’s most vibrant cultures through music from chart-topping voices and local talents. The 2025 Planet Brooklyn festival will close out its inaugural launch this Sunday with a star-studded Barclays concert hosted by the “Caribbean King of Comedy” — stand-up comedian and viral internet sensation Majah Hype. At the forefront of the show is the one-and-only Trinidadian music superstar Machel Montano. This 50-year-old singer, a two-time winner at the Soul Train Music Awards, offers sensual blends of dancehall-infused soca (“soul of calypso”) music, showcased in genre-exemplifying hits like “Fast Wine,” “Like Ah Boss,” “Mr. Fete,” “The Truth,” and “PARDY.” Joining him are international breakthrough artist Ayetian (“Tip,” “Balance,” “Anyweh,”), who injects young blood into dancehall with his recent breakthroughs, and Montano’s fellow Trinidadian icon and ragga soca trailblazer Bunji Garlin (“Carry It,” “Big Bad Soca,” “Hard Fete”), famed in the United States for his Soul Train-winning song “Differentology” and the Billboard Top 3 Reggae Album Turn Up.
The rest of the Barclays lineup include soca, reggae, and dancehall tastemakers Lady Lava (“Bob the Builder,” “Ring Finger”), Problem Child (“Holiday,” “Nasty Up,”), Ravi B (“Ah Drinka,” “Prescription”), Skillibeng (“Jump,” “Shake It To The Max,”), Skinny Fabulous (“Come Home,” “Famalay”), and Travis World (“Splash,” “Mind My Business”).
“Brooklyn has always felt like a second home to me. The vibes, the culture, the people — there’s nothing like it. I can’t wait to feel that energy again and share this moment with everyone who knows what it means to ‘come alive’ through music,” PB festival headliner Machel Montano expressed through Billboard.
The critically acclaimed and multi-award-winning Barclays Center is honored to host such a momentous event, presenting a world-class suite of amenities. Home to the Nets, it boasts cutting-edge feats in acoustic design and atmospheric lighting technology, delivered through aesthetic modern architecture.
Outside the venue, crowds of Brooklynites and neighboring New Yorkers will enjoy open-air block parties — with merchants, food vendors, and street-level performances — connecting the arena with Brooklyn Paramount and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.
