What to expect at The Barclays Center

Barclays Center is a state-of-the-art venue. Depending on the event, it has different seating capacities, up to a maximum of over 19,000. Unlike many other venues, Barclays Center has no dedicated parking lot. However, it is exceptionally well-connected to public transportation, located above the Atlantic Avenue–Barclays Center subway station, which connects to the rest of NYC.

One of the most striking features of Barclays Center is its distinctive — even unique — exterior design. The facade comprises three articulated bands with a glass wall covered by steel panels — an homage to Brooklyn’s iconic brownstone buildings. An enormous oculus extends over the entrance plaza with a screen that loops around its interior, displaying video for everyone entering the venue.

Inside, Barclays Center has distinct sports lighting systems. The first is designed for Brooklyn Nets games, focusing light on the court while dimming the rest of the arena. Fans report that this makes Nets games feel intimate and much more intense than other arenas. The court’s unique herringbone pattern adds a distinctive touch to the games.
